I keep seeing this and it irks me every time. Yes, Steve isn’t treating him like a monster, but he’s going about it all wrong. He’s ignoring the monster, which is NOT (NOT NOT NOT NOT) how you deal with them. Steve is outright saying “I don’t care about your big green problem.” Tony said “I like you AND your big green problem.” See the difference? You can’t just ignore an entire aspect of a person because it suits you. Certainly having everyone worried about the Hulk side of things gets a little irritating, but having someone ignore it’s existence entirely? That’s not the way to do it.

And I could go into all of the real-life mental-illness implications of this, but I won’t, because I doubt any of you want to read that anyway.

And if you noticed, Bruce was only ever comfortable around Tony, because Tony accepted him in his entirety, science genius and green monster and all. He didn’t like being around the others - including Steve - because of they way they sectioned him, worried about the Hulk or dismissing it entirely.

(so I’ll go into the mental illness implications in the tags) Because if you took the Hulk as a metaphor for mental illness depression anxiety schizophrenia disassociative bpd so on so forth You can’t just ignore the illness and you sure as hell don’t tell the person I’m going to completely ignore the fact that you’re a bit messed up in the head because I don’t want to deal with the implications of it because that only makes them feel worse makes them feel like they’re less than because someone feels the need to partition off that entire critical aspect of them just to treat them like a human and treating them like they are their disorder is shit too but after a while you get used to that whih sucks but happens.Which is why Tony did the RIGHT thing and Steve did the WRONG thingBecause Tony recognized the issue recognized the disorder and didn’t just say you’re ok in spite of it but you’re okay because of it. I sure hope you are seeing a bunch of stuff about Brazil, either on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook or TV. But I need you to understand what is going on. What’s truly going on around here. So I prepared this masterpost, a list of links that should explain this to you!

Some background:

Brazil is one of the most corrupt governments in the world

Our government doesn’t take care of us

And goes unpunished, leaving us conformed

Mostly because we have laws that they can manipulate to protect themselves, seen here and here.

There’s so many problems with our government it’s hard to list everything.

What triggered the people:

Is Brazil ready to host the 2014 World Cup? (With this government? No.)

Football being used to distract the people from the World Cup and corruption issues

In Brazil, you work 5 months a year to pay tax. By the age of 70, the average Brazilian will have worked 30 years just to pay tax. Brazilians pay around 61 different taxes

“Several of these stadiums risk becoming white elephants,”

José Sarney, an undistinguished but influential former president, earns 62,000 reais a month

81 senators in the upper house will have parity with the country’s Supreme Court judges, earning R$26,723.13 (£10,063) a month.

The bus pass is now 20 centavos (10 cents) more expensive in 22 May. 10 cents for each bus ride (some people take 2 different buses to get to work, so that would be at least 4 bus rides a day) for each person in São Paulo alone (with a population of 11.32 million), we know damn well what are they doing.

Where the protest begins

First protest in Porto Alegre in March 2013, when protesters convinced the local city hall to reduce the fare price.

In Goiania, 16 May also before the prices were officially changed, where two buses were incinerated and two buses were stoned, but leaving no victims on behalf of the protesters.

There was another protest in Goiania, on 6 June, where the fares were brought back to their previous price by judge Fernando de Mello Xavier.

An then finally, São Paulo.

I say finally because the São Paulo protests were everywhere in the news.

The city hall announced the raise of the tickets prices from R$3,00 to R$3,20, starting on 2 June. It’s one of the most expensive bus tickets in the country.

Not just the bus tickets, but healthcare, economy and education are being left aside in order to steal from us and invest as much money as possible in the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup.

13th June 2013: The day 5 thousand protesters occupied Avenida Paulista, one of the most important avenues in São Paulo. There was a worldwide repercussion to it.

There was also a protest on 16 June in Brasília, our capital, right before a Brazil vs Japan football match. “They are building these overpriced stadiums and are not worrying about the situation of their own people.”

There was a protest today on Maracanã, one of the stadiums where 2013 Confederations Cup is taking place, a match between Italy and Mexico. And yes, it was violent.

In all of these cases, most of Brazil’s media websites (like Veja, one of the most important and influential Brazilian magazines) blamed the protesters, saying the police was violent because they were violent first, saying the protesters deserved what they got, calling them troublemakers (among other names)

Even though “innocent people” (non-protesters) were injured by the police, like people passing by and reporters.

There are protests about this all over the world!

Dublin, Ireland, scheduled for 1pm local time Sunday in sign of solidarity with Brazilian protesters, many of whom are university students.

Dozens of demonstrations are also being organized in other cities, including Paris, Madrid, London, Berlin, Brussels, Boston, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Mexico City and Buenos Aires. In general, the actions are scheduled for Tuesday.

Teachers, first off, favor boys speaking in the classroom, even ones who think they do a good job of classroom equality.

teachers are more likely to call on boys and then go on to reinforce, praise and encourage them. When a boy gives a wrong answer, a teacher will spend time to help him reason out the correct answer. However, when a girl answers, a teacher is likely to either respond with a bland “okay” to her right answer or simply to move on to another student if her answer is incorrect.

Boys are eight times more likely to call out in class without raising their hands and tend to dominate discussions. Boys are twice often used as role models in class and five times more apt to get a teacher’s attention when they raise their hands to recite. Boys often recite even if they have not done the day’s homework, whereas even well prepared girls hesitate to participate. The older girls get, the more they let boys take over the class.

Teachers learn boys’ names more quickly.

An underlying theme of coeducational schools is that if only boys would work harder and behave better, they’d get better grades. The underlying message for girls is “You are nice and well behaved, and you work hard, but you’re not very smart.”

This is not even considering students who suffer from social anxiety or autism, or who are maybe even just introverted. This is generally an ableist phenomenon. Besides, anxiety mostly affects—wait for it—women. Women are twice as likely to have anxiety than men are.

Classrooms need radical change. Learning gender roles begins during childhood, and what are we teaching children? That boys get to talk, and girls get to submit to them.

That’s fucked.

I think Pokemon is the only cartoon that ever showed the repercussions of the villains’ failure. It wasn’t all self-indulgent speeches and fabulous evil style with these three: every time one of their wacky schemes failed it meant a loss of money and resources, another mark against them at headquarters, another barrage of criticisms from their boss, and another night spent starving and exhausted and downtrodden. Team Rocket didn’t want to win against the good guys so that they could take over the world, they wanted to win so that they would receive the reward of food and shelter for the night.

I want everyone to think long and hard on this information.

This means that you are not buying your games. You are paying 60+ dollars to rent the games from Microsoft, and they can take their game back whenever they feel like it.

You will not own your game. You will not own your console. Essentially, Microsoft is saying “We can disable your games and cut you off from accessing your console whenever we choose to.” Because a ban that locks your XBox Live account means that you will be locked out from all non-game functionality of the system, and by revoking your ‘licenses’ on all your games associated with your account, they can then disable each and every game you own for the system. Leaving you with a five hundred dollar cable receiver. Or, in the case of most users of the console, a five hundred dollar paperweight.

All because you accidentally walked into some online glitch and the rest of the players rage-report you for cheating.

This is unacceptable. Buy any console but an XBox One. Do not support Microsoft’s sudden belief that they own everything despite our purchase of it, and we have to prove we’re worthy of being shared with by paying exorbitant fees and jumping through constant hoops and hoping someone doesn’t report us for cheating because we made them mad in an online game.

Tell Microsoft ‘No,’ and do not give them your hard-earned money for what amounts to a video game subscription service with a $500 starting fee and $60+ dollar purchases.

they used to be my favorite electronics manufacturer. Windows was my favorite OS and the 360 was my favorite console. Now with the XBOX One and fucking Windows 8, i’m ready to kick them out of everything I do. Only thing that sucks is that Windows still has the most compatibility with the software I use (I.E. 90% of the games I own on steam.) Hopefully that’ll change by the time I start needing a new OS.

They used to be the best, now they’re the worst. What happened?
